I cover all the small electrical jobs most electricians don’t want to do. Many of them just want high paying work such as full rewires, consumer unit changes and solar installations.

But if you just want a light changed or a new outside socket they’ll either not return your call or quote ridiculously high prices.

But small jobs are what I specialise in and in fact I no longer do larger projects which means I can normally get to you in just a couple of days or even the same day if it’s urgent.

Work I Do

Change  Overs: I will change existing lights, sockets, switches, extract fans, cooker hoods, ceiling pull switches, shower and cooker isolator switches, down lights and much more.

This includes changing hobs and cookers.

A cooker change over is £75. Often two visits are required, one to disconnect your old cooker ready for the delivery company to take away and dispose of and the second to install your new cooker.

I do split jobs like this for no extra charge!

New Installations:

Need a new socket or a couple new lighting points? I do simple installations like this often for just £195 plus materials as long as your consumer unit / fuse box is reasonably up to date.

If the job is more complex, I may need to quote a special price after visiting you.

Fault Finding:

Are your electrics tripping? Have a socket or light that’s not working? Then give me a call. My efficient fault finding service should have everything working again quickly.

I also have a same day service at extra cost if you need the problem fixed urgently.

Down Lights A Speciality!

Do you have existing down lights that aren’t working?

Or do you have a clunky old fashioned pendant light fitting with a shade and long for the sleek modern look of down lights which have the extra benefit of much better, more even lighting?

I can supply, wire up and fit new down lights quickly and efficiently. It’s amazing how this work can transform a room.

EICR’s / Inspection And Testing

If you’re a landlord or letting agent, you’ll know an EICR needs to be done with each change of occupancy as well as every 5 years.

If you’re selling your home it’s also a good idea to have an EICR done because prospective buyers often ask for one before considering giving you an offer.

I offer a competitive EICR service at just £35 per circuit. (Multiply this figure by the number of circuit breakers in your consumer unit to get an idea of total cost).

I also offer a ‘Peace of Mind’ inspection service for £115 consisting of a visual inspection of your electrical installation plus more basic testing before giving my expert opinion on the current state of your electrics.

Work I Don’t Do

Appliance Repairs: I don’t fix faulty cookers, washing machines, fridges, free standing lamps / lights. I concentrate on fixing issues on your fixed wiring systems instead.

Larger And More Complex Jobs: I don’t do rewires, consumer unit changes, new circuits and larger works.

As a good rule of thumb, if it’s likely to take more than 1 day, you’ll be better off with another electrician. Don’t worry though, there’s plenty of them interested in these larger jobs!

Work Outside My Area: I cover Crawley, Redhill, Horley, East Grinstead, Horsham, Haywards Heath, Burgess Hill and all the surrounding villages and locations.

I think it’s the ‘green’ thing to do to not travel too far to jobs so if you’re outside these areas it’s unlikely I’ll be able to attend.

If you’re slightly outside my area such as Brighton or Croydon I may consider half or whole day jobs.
